La fille dans les nuages [EN]

The journey undertaken by Providence and Airbag—the two main characters—unfolds in a world governed by its own internal logic; it is a story of encounters. We travel alongside them. Narratively, the element of discovery drives the story, shaping it into a coming-of-age tale in the vein of Collodi’s Pinocchio. The film also offers nods to the great stories that inform its spirit—such as Providence shrinking like Lewis Carroll’s Alice, or the witch Befana evoking Saraghina from Fellini’s 8½ —while a freedom of tone and a sense of the unexpected provide the narrative’s driving force.
